I just read a book on General Patton, full of photos taken by him. Before this I did not know that he was much more than a famous general. He competed in the Olympics, wrote poetry, was a champion horseman and many more things.
I did know, though, that he loved this country. Happily he is not here to see the America of today, a seriously divided country whose people have lost their precious freedom of speech and other constitutional rights; an America’s that has a newfound hatred of itself.
